Dr Byaruhanga helped develop and submit a proposal for SWIFT-TB funding to USAID. The TA also chaired a national TB conference and supported updates to TB treatment guidelines. This collaborative effort led to securing funding for guideline updates through USAID grants and finalizing grants from the Global Fund to support TB and health system strengthening. Understanding the critical need for frontline health worker input, the TA facilitated the inclusion of their perspectives, especially on the management of TB commodities, which had been a subject of extensive debate.

The TA contributed to the development and update of TB treatment guidelines, resulting in strengthened supply chain management and improved TB treatment and management guidelines. The TA also compiled the COP24 TB commodities request for PEPFAR. This involved a review of the quantification files to ensure an accurate and efficient request process.
