Ghana

Mr Wagaw’s fight against tuberculosis (TB) received a major boost thanks to the LEAP Local technical support program. Working alongside the Ministry of Health, the TA developed new TB control guidelines, securing funding, improving access to diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing communication among stakeholders. The future focus remains on securing more resources, monitoring new treatments, expanding community-based care, and improving pediatric TB detection. This collaborative effort positions Ghana well on the path to achieving its TB elimination goals.

The TA supported the development of training slides for tuberculosis preventive treatment (TPT), an action plan for the implementation of grant cycle seven (GC7), a draft national TB programme (NTP) 2024 annual plan, and an updated GC7 grant implementation arrangement document.
