Ms Mugunda made significant progress, training healthcare workers, supporting the development of the five-year National Strategic Plan (NSP), piloting new diagnostics, and improving data collection through mass screenings. Even amidst challenges like funding delays, stock shortages, and prevailing high TB mortality rates, the TA remains committed. The plan includes finalizing childhood TB guidelines, training more healthcare workers, and continuing screening efforts. Notably, the new strategic plan aligns with the WHO’s people-centered approach and leverages data to target interventions effectively.
