The USAID Long Term Exceptional Technical Assistance Project (LEAP) team met up in Paris with colleagues from the Health practice at Genesis Analytics prior to attending the Union World Conference on Lung Health.
The team meeting discussed progress on the implementation of the LEAP Local Project that provides support to ministries of Health in 17 African countries with locally relevant long-term and short-term expertise in infectious diseases, health systems and management. This will enable them to effectively engage and coordinate stakeholders in order to implement evidence-based locally relevant solutions.
The LEAP Local Project team then attended the Union World Conference on Lung Health where they participated in plenary sessions, presented accepted abstracts and built a network of relationships for the project. The LEAP Local Project was also given a slot to exhibit project work at the USAID booth.
Genesis Analytics is the USAID prime partner on the $17m LEAP project being implemented in Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, eSwatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
"It was good that the project team was supportive from the start. Those meetings you organised helped us to better understand the project. The HR director and programme director have been very supportive.”
